SELL TO IRONCREST

The internet’s buyer for Cat6 cable.

Contractor overstock. Distributor surplus. Building pull-out. Data center teardowns. If it is Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6a — new boxes, partial spools, or clean pull-out — Ironcrest buys it, in any quantity from a single box to a trailer load. We built the internet’s deepest Cat cable library because we buy more of it than anyone; now put that buyer to work for you.

WHAT WE BUY

Every form Cat cable comes in

New boxes & spools

Full 1000-ft boxes, partial boxes with footage remaining, distributor overstock, cancelled-job surplus. The premium tier — new cable with readable labels and footage marks is the fastest offer we make.

Contractor overstock

The #1 source in the trade: partial boxes from finished jobs, the three boxes left after the build-out, the pallet from the bid that changed spec. We buy it by the box, sorted or mixed — though sorted earns more.

Building pull-out

Renovation and demolition pull-out: clean, labeled, uncut lengths have real resale value. Burnt, painted, or mystery pull-out goes to recovery — still worth pricing, never worth dumpstering. See scrap values.

Data center cable

Teardown volumes: Cat6a, Cat7/Cat8, pre-terminated trunks, patch cord inventories. We buy at data-center scale — gaylords, pallets, trailer loads. See our data center hub.

What we do not want

CCA (copper-clad aluminum) — it is not certifiable cable and we will not resell it as such; it goes to recovery only. Unmarked mystery cable with no jacket print. Be straight about what you have and we will be straight about the price.

How we price

Category (5e/6/6a), jacket rating (CMP premium), footage remaining, new vs. pull-out, and quantity. Photos of the jacket print and box labels get you today’s actual price — markets move, so we quote the day, not the year.

HOW TO SELL

What to send us

Four things: 1. The jacket print — photograph it clearly (category, AWG, footage, CMP/CMR). 2. Box labels — manufacturer, part number, footage remaining. 3. Quantity — box count, spool count, estimated footage. 4. Condition — new, partial, or pull-out; and if pull-out, how clean. Send it all in one message: call/text 312-880-8174 or the quote form. Sorted by category earns the stronger offer; mixed lots still get priced, just at the lower tier.

SHIPPING

Packing and shipping cable

Full 1000-ft boxes ship as-is (they are designed for it — keep the box dry and intact). Partial boxes: tape the box closed and note the footage remaining on the outside. Loose coils: tie in at least three places and bag the end with the jacket print visible. Pull-out: coil neatly, separate by category, and keep it dry — wet pull-out grows mold that kills resale. Pallets: stack boxes label-out, shrink-wrap, and keep CMP/CMR separated. For trailer-load quantities, we coordinate the logistics — you just get it accessible. The rule throughout: the jacket print is the product identity, so never bury it — every box, coil, and pallet should show its markings.

QUESTIONS

Selling questions, answered.

What Cat cable does Ironcrest buy?

Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a — plus Cat7/Cat8 and fiber from data centers. New boxes, partial spools, contractor overstock, and clean building pull-out.

How much cable do I need to sell?

No minimum — a single partial box is worth a conversation. Volume (pallets, trailer loads) gets volume attention.

Do you buy pull-out / used cable?

Clean, labeled pull-out: yes, for resale. Damaged or unmarked pull-out: yes, for copper recovery. Send photos either way.

Do you buy CCA cable?

Only for recovery — CCA is not certifiable cable and we will not resell it as category cable. Be upfront about it.

How fast is the offer?

Jacket photos + quantity in one message gets you today’s price. That is the whole process.

HOW IT WORKS

Sell your cable in three steps

1. Photograph it

Jacket markings (category, footage, plenum/riser), box labels, and quantity. The jacket print is the entire specification.

2. Send it over

Call or text 312-880-8174 or use the quote form. Tell us the category, footage, and whether it is new or pull-out.

3. Get today’s price

A real offer based on your photos and today’s market — not a calculator, not a guess.
