Condensers & Coils
Outdoor units and indoor coils: copper tube and aluminum fins in every one.
Every scrapped air conditioner is a copper package: sealed compressors with motors inside, condenser coils of copper tube and aluminum fins, plus wiring and line sets. HVAC contractors generate them daily in season. If you pull old units, you are pulling copper.
A scrapped condensing unit breaks down into three copper-bearing parts. The sealed compressor is a steel can with an electric motor inside: copper windings, every one. The condenser coil is copper tube laced through aluminum fins: the classic copper-aluminum radiator of the HVAC world. The control box adds contactors, capacitors, and copper wiring. Units run 30 to 300 pounds each, and contractors stack them by the dozen in season.

No. Sealed compressors sell sealed. Never cut one open yourself: the oil and pressure inside are a job for proper equipment.
It must be recovered by a certified technician before the unit is scrapped, as the law requires. We buy the metal: refrigerant handling stays with the licensed tech.
Yes. There are no minimums and every unit counts. One condenser still gets a fast quote.
Yes. Window air conditioners and packaged terminal units carry the same copper components in smaller packages.
You do not need to. Whole units are welcome: separation happens in processing and the breakdown shows how the unit was priced.
Yes. HVAC contractors with steady volume can set up a collection rhythm: stack them, call, and the units move on your schedule.
