Six questions. Read equipment like a buyer.

Answer six questions about a piece of electrical equipment and the quiz will tell you which value family it is probably in — and what to photograph next. Educational, not a verdict: the final word is always clear photos and an experienced review.

HOW IT SCORES

What the quiz is actually testing

The six questions map to the six things a buyer checks in the first sixty seconds: equipment type (which market it belongs to), condition (resale vs. recovery), identification (can it be listed with confidence?), brand (replacement demand or obscurity?), scale (residential commodity vs. commercial vs. industrial ticket size), and quantity (single unit, sorted lot, or mystery pile). The logic is deliberately conservative — partial identification or unknown condition drops a tier, because that is what real buyers do. Use it as a training tool: run your own inventory through it before a buyer does, and fix the things that cost you a tier. Labels can be photographed, lots can be sorted, and both are free.

QUESTIONS

Quiz questions, answered.

Is the quiz result a price?

No — it places your equipment in a value family and tells you what to photograph next. Real pricing needs clear photos of labels and condition, reviewed by an experienced buyer.

Why does the label matter so much?

The catalog number is the entire specification: brand, family, amperage, poles, AIC. Without it, equipment cannot be listed or installed with confidence — and it prices accordingly.

I got ‘needs identification.’ What now?

Photograph what you can — overall shots, any markings, measurements — and send them. Identification is a free service; guessing is not a strategy.
