What is actually sitting in your old panel.
A removed panel is four products in one: the circuit breakers (resale value by brand, type, and condition), the copper bus bars inside (clean copper), the main breaker (often the single most valuable component), and the enclosure itself. Homeowners see a gray box; buyers see sorted inventory.
Why most upgrade equipment gets thrown away.
Default behavior: the electrician hauls it to the dumpster, or it sits in a garage for five years. The fix takes minutes — set the breakers aside instead of tossing them, keep the panel intact rather than smashing it, and photograph everything before it gets dirty. Five minutes of separation at removal time is the difference between resale value and scrap weight.

Is my old electrical panel worth anything?
Usually yes — the breakers inside are the main value, plus copper bus and the main breaker. Even common modern breakers have resale value in quantity.
Should I remove the breakers or sell the panel whole?
Sell it whole if you can. Full panels photograph better, inventory faster, and avoid broken stabs from removal. We buy both.
My panel is a Zinsco / Federal Pacific — is that good or bad?
Good for resale. Those obsolete lines have the strongest used demand because they are no longer manufactured. See our obsolete breaker guide.
What if the panel is damaged or rusted?
Breakers in good condition still sell even if the enclosure is rough. Photograph honestly — we price on what is actually there.
