What carbide scrap do you buy from Florida shops?
We review carbide inserts (coated and uncoated), carbide end mills and drills, brazed carbide tooling, carbide burrs and reamers, carbide grinding sludge and swarf, and carbide dies and wear parts. Space Coast aerospace work, defense machining around Jacksonville, and mold and medical shops in Orlando and Tampa all produce exactly this material.
Do you buy carbide from Florida machine shops by mail?
Yes. Our mail-in program covers smaller lots — a padded box or two of inserts and tooling ships by parcel from any Florida city. Larger lots go by pallet freight. Send photos and the approximate weight first; we confirm pricing before you ship anything, and Ironcrest is based in the Chicago area so plan transit time accordingly. Pack carbide in a sturdy box and tape the seams well — it is dense for its size.
How do I get today’s price for carbide scrap in Florida?
Send photos of the tooling, a rough sort by type when possible, and the approximate weight. We price each lot from current market conditions and material grade — per-pound prices are not published. Send photos for today’s price at [email protected] or 312-880-8174.
Do inserts need to be sorted by grade or coating?
No. Separate inserts from end mills, drills and brazed tooling when you can, but do not worry about sorting by coating color or grade — that is our job at evaluation. Just keep carbide out of the steel scrap pile. Clean, dry, roughly sorted material grades best.
Can you handle carbide from a large Florida shop closing or cleanout?
Yes. For plant closings, shop cleanouts and large tooling inventories in Florida, we can review the lot and coordinate palletized freight — and for large commercial lots we can coordinate pickup directly. Send photos of the inventory, approximate quantities, the Florida location and access details, and we will plan the move from there.
